Our Mission:
HONK NYC makes events that reclaim, reuse and redefine public space. We connect communities through music-making, pageantry, audience participation and education. We celebrate the power and vitality of street performance, and support the artists and musicians who preserve and transform these global traditions.

Plezi RaRa in Central Park: Make Music New York

Live and in person, HONK NYC!’s 15th Annual Festival of Street Bands & Spectacle is poised to return to its natural habitat, the streets of New York: October 18–24, 2021.
Produced by a dedicated, women-led art team since 2007, HONK NYC! will be a week-long series of free, celebratory outdoor parades and performances and concurrent online programming you can tune into from home. Featuring an exciting selection of street bands—brass, percussion, and marching guitars (!)—HONK NYC!’s annual festival is a love letter to our home and the resilient artists who live and work here. New Yorkers are slowly and surely returning to public life. With your help, HONK NYC! 2021 will be ready to greet them with art, music, love and community in the safest place possible—our streets.
